Present a short Cornish run of Daphne Du Maurier’s Jamaica Inn adapted for the stage by Lisa Evans.
In Jamaica Inn, at the heart of the bleak Bodmin moor, newly orphaned Mary Yellan is hoping to find solace with her Aunt Patience, but she has yet to meet the tempestuous landlord, Joss Merlyn and soon discovers mysterious goings-on in the dead of the night. It is here where this dark and intriguing gothic tale begins, but worse is yet to come as Mary finds herself helplessly ensnared in the deadly activities taking place around her. Evocative, atmospheric and chilling!
Music from the People’s String Foundation. Jamaica inn opens at Sterts on the 17th and then at the Minack Theatre, on 20th May, and runs until 24th
